Brunch…To quote The Simpsons, “It’s not quite breakfast, it’s not quite lunch, but it comes with a slice of cantaloupe at the end. You don’t get completely what you would at breakfast, but you get a good meal.” Well On Sunday March 1st, my wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary by doing just that; we had an AMAZING buffet brunch that was so much more than simply a good meal, at THE RAINBOW ROOM.
Everything about brunch was awesome! Our table was the perfect vantage point for people watching, the attentive service by the wait staff, the wonderful jazz being played by the live band, the sheer beauty of the room and the most spectacular food selection I have seen for brunch in a very long time! There were so many different choices of cuisine that words are not enough to describe it, one simply has to go experience it for themselves! Now even though there was an indescribable amount of amazing eats, there was 1 dish that absolutely stood out!
The dish was Poached egg with truffle buttered beech mushrooms, bacon and shaved black truffle served over what looked like creamy grits. The dish was pure silky decadence! As you can see in the picture my wife broke the yolk which gave the dish even more depth and character.
All I can say is go to THE RAINBOW ROOM for brunch; soooooo worth the money!
